1) Differences from Beta

  • Fixed various graphical bugs. 
  • Changed Option to Save in the menu. 
  • Revamp battle menu. 
  • Added more text boxes between scenes for clarity. 
  • Fixed collision bugs in ending. 

2) I am happy with how the game turned out. The thing I enjoyed most about the design process is creating the story, which took me by surprise. I thought creating the idea woulda been harder than implementing it . The technical limitations of the GameBoy was the biggest hurdle, there are a ton. Just to name a few, I was limited to 4 colors for the entire game, the resolution of the screen is 160 x 144. to put that into perspective the resolution of today screens are in the 1000's, and there is a limit to how many sprites can be on the screen at once. Some easier things, were implementing the music, and creating the pixel art. The things that took the longest were the programming, and the battle system. There are so many variables, in even a simple battle, like my own that it got overwhelming, and ultimately somethings needed to be scrapped.  Overall, I happy with what I produced, and proud of what I was able to do in 3 months.
